Operation Medical and Holy Spirit Hospital Partnership for the 2014 Homeless Connect Event

Dr. John Judson and Lisa Lewis, Vice President of Nursing at Holy Spirit Hospital have been working together to provide flu shots for the 5th annual Homeless Connect event that is being held September 11, 2014 from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm at the Farm Show Complex, 2nd floor conference area.

This event is held once a year and matches the homeless with vital services. The premise of the program is for the homeless in the capital area to be able to have as many of their individual needs addressed at one time. The services will include dental care, eyeglasses, HIV testing, food and medical care, legal advice, ID cards, employment counseling, flu shots and much more.

Holy Spirit Hospital has agreed to donate needed flu vaccine and administration supplies and to have Operation Medical provide, along with Holy Spirit, enough nurses to administer the vaccine. it is expected that over 100 flu shots will be administered during the course of the day.
