Operation Medical’s third visit to Kasturba Hospital, comprised of 33 volunteers, is in full swing.  As always, we received a very warm welcome Saturday with a formal ceremony including blessings, speeches and declaration of “Let the camp begin!”    Our free surgery camps are conducted under the pretense that the patients are never charged for our services and we thank the Bayer Pharmaceutical company for their sponsorship to cover costs of the hospital!

There is an air of celebration as Kasturba commemorates their 75th anniversary this year and we are delighted to part of the ongoing excitement here.  Sunday, our first day in the Operating Room resulted in 41 cases and we anticipate that volume to grow significantly on Monday.

Our team is a bit jet-lagged, but otherwise healthy, very well fed and committed to the mission.  We hope you will continue to check in with us the rest of the week.
