Meet three first time volunteers with Operation Medical who will be joining the 2017 Valsad Team. We are pleased to welcome Karmae Amsbaugh, Noah Hindes, and Jerimiah Middleton.
Karmae Amsbaugh, a surgical technologist since 1981 is joining Operation Medical for her first mission trip. She is currently employed at Holy Spirit Hospital, a Geisinger Affiliate, in Camp Hill, PA and lives Carlisle, PA. Mission work has been lifelong dream for Karmae and now that her daughters are older she feels blessed with the opportunity to join Operation Medical for the surgical camp in Valsad in January. She desires to go to under privileged countries and be part of improving lives of the less fortunate. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the beach, and snuggling with her 5 rescue dogs.
Noah D. Hindes
Noah Hindes currently works for Penn Medicine in Philadelphia as a data analyst. Prior to that, he worked in analytics, data science and reporting roles at Lancaster General Health. He is interested in big data approaches to delivering improved healthcare access. The January 2017 mission in Valsad will be Noah’s first trip with Operation Medical, and he is eager to connect with patients and expand his understanding of the patient experience through the lens of an unfamiliar culture. In his spare time, Noah enjoys soccer, travel, and foreign languages.
Jeramiah Middleton, a surgical technologist at Lancaster General Health / Penn Medicine in Lancaster, PA is also joining the team for a first time mission experience. He shared that he is eager to go on this trip because he has always wanted to travel outside the country and help others in any way possible. He loves working in the operating room and feels like he has finally found a way to serve people in need while applying his skills. Jeramiah lives in Dover, PA with his best furry friend, a 2-year old Chocolate Labrador named Ruger. When not working or spending time with Ruger, Jeramiah enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking and boating in the beautiful Pennsylvania countryside.
